Google Plus Company Pages

Since the launch of Google Plus business pages, there has been alot of hype on how we can use this to our own benefit.

We have created a simple PDF that is free to download, with no form to complete, and it is available here:

http://www.slideshare.net/spencewsi/google-plus-how-to

The PDF details exactly how to create your business page.

Like Facebook, Google Plus insists you have a personal page first, they want the person to engage as well as the business.

Pages appear not to be limited, you can have as many as you can handle.

You do need to create a gmail account before you can create a personal profile, and once that is set up, it is clear where you go to create a business page (unlike Facebook who have never made that easy).

So, please feel free to share this link and get started with your new Google Plus Business Page... because we know this will change the way google ranks a website.

Thanks,

Company Status Updates on Linked In

We have been using Linked In company pages for a while, adding products and services and cololecting recommendations that stay with the company rather than the staff member.
Now Linked In have created a "Company Status Update" that goes to your Company Followers, rather than appearing on your connections status update area.
I guess this means we now have to work on gaining Company Followers too.
Linked In are also allowing us to see stattistics about your status updates, like Facebook, showing the number of impressions a post received, and the percentage of interaction.

All this additional information should make us all much better Social Media Marketeers, as we understand our online user visitor behaviour more and more.

Thank you Linked In for giving us more to teach on our training courses, and another new slide to create.

Using Web properties to enhance your online image

Web Properties

It's a little like Monopoly...

The more property you own, the better the position you are in. Using things like Facebook, Twitter, Linked In are all great, but you should be looking to enhance this just a little more.

Claim yoru name on as many portals and properties aas you can actively cope wioth, link them together as much as possible and track the results.

Once you begin to track, you will soon start to see where your target audience is and can add more similar web properties to your portfolio.

I hope that helps.

Creating a Brick and Stone Website

A great article by Ron McArthur written specifically for the Brick and Stone Industry.

http://masoncontractors.blogspot.com/2011/08/creating-website-for-your-masonry.html

This article concentrates on how the Brick and Stone industry can  use online tools to grow their business.

We ourselves have created many websites for this industry, and over many years have seen many changes in the way companies are using the web to stay ahead of their competition.

Some very simple websites we have created include:
But of course, it does not stop at your website. Ron also mentions Social Media, and YouTube is a great way to showcase on the web, and acheives fantastic results, like this video here:
Search Engine Optimisation is also a highly important tool in getting your website found, and is more reasonabley priced than you think.

If we wish us to take a look at your website to see how we can help you grow your business using online tools, please give us a call on 01604 652006 or email me direct at Tracy@totalwsinetsolutions.com

error 404

getting a 404 error on a web page can be very frustrating to say the least. But, as a business, you can use this page to help people understand why they are here, and help them fin their way back. Here are a few thoughts...

  • Explain why they may be there
  • Show them how to get back, include a few key links
  • Add your company logo
  • Include links to your Social Media portals
  • add your email address and encourage visitors to report the errors.
Give it a try, and let me know how you get on.... Thanks

    A message from Bing

    A message from Bing.

"As of June 7th, the Bing Webmaster Tools site that you know has changed.

Bing has been investing in building its Webmaster Tools for a while now and we have recently launched a revised webmaster experience that offers expansion in tools, data coverage and content. The site redesign makes it easier for you to find content, tools and data to help meet your needs. Our new features include expanded functionality, and the data that coincides with these new features. With over 40 new self-help documents on hand, publishers now have access to a wide range of help and guidance content across various topics such as how to use our tools and search engine optimization.

    New Bing Toolbox Site

As part of our investment, we’ve built new functionality to help publishers find relevant data and control their accounts. Here are some of the major features and improvements Bing Webmaster account users will see:
    – Crawl delay configurable by the hour
ο Control when and at what pace Bing crawls your website
    – User and role management
ο Control who can access your Bing Webmaster account and what functions they can use
    – Index Explorer
ο Improvements to reliability and how fast data appears in your reports
    – URL Normalization
ο Manage which URLs from your site Bing holds in its index
    – Deep Links Management
ο Manage which deep links are shown for your website, when your domain is selected
Beyond the updated and enhanced features, Bing Webmaster Tools has also launched detailed self-help guides and how-to documents. We’ve covered a wide range of topics, from how to accomplish tasks within Bing Webmaster tools, to what you should be focused on when performing search engine optimization. Here’s a quick peek at some of the new content topics in the 40+ new guides and how to documents launched:
    • Using Bing Webmaster Tools
    • Webmaster Tools Data explained
    • How to perform Link Building
    • Removing or blocking pages from our index
    • Search Engine Optimization (SEO) guidance

Watch for new content to appear monthly as we invest further in explaining features and highlight areas of work webmasters are focused on.

Visit Bing Webmaster Tools to see the new features in your account, and to access the new content. "
